Worldly Faith

  • How does Faith relate to the world in which we live?

Today, faith is considered in many different varieties of customs to our modern culture. It is within bounds to say that most of our actions today are all based on the rudimentary fact of faith. Within the bounds of faith and the ability of believing each other, we act as a community. Many aspects in our lives indeed revolve with the belief of faith. Not only in religious subjects but also in our everyday lives we perform faith. Take for instance, how we act upon in our homes. Some cultures in the world have faith towards their homes that it would protect them from the outside world. People of certain countries believe that a miniature of there house built in their front lawn would protect themselves from evil spirits once it’s filled with food. Another type of faith is formed between individuals in a society. Currency, for example, is a universal faith to people who belong to a community. In truth, the object that we call ‘money’ is just a piece of paper or metal. ‘Money’ actually does not have any value on its own. It is because we have faith with our country and society that this ‘piece of paper or metal’ has a set value that the people provide can we truly call it our system of currency. As result, faith again is the basic factor in which our society may function. Without faith, it would be impossible to trust or believe in anything. There are many structures of society that are run mainly based on faith.

I agree with you. people of different cultures have different beliefs. Whether is be filling up houses with food or whatever, people around the world are different. The importance of things like money are indeed emphasized people. People build the standard of the faith that people have.
Also, faith does not have to be is concurrence with religion. Faith is a strong belief in something, and to the extreme, one could have faith in Satanism.

Hey~
I really agree that people have different faith based on their culture and surrounding. I also agree that without faith people cannot live. We wouldn't be able to trust anyone. People should trust others instead of putting trust in money or their homes. From your writing I was able to see a different view of faith from mine...
